Introducing the IJRU Athlete Council

Between July 1 and July 12, 2021, athletes from across the global jump rope/rope skipping community cast their votes virtually in the first International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) Athlete Council election. Approximately 200 athletes, representing 16 countries registered to vote in the election. The newly formed Athlete Council will represent the athlete voice in the sport of jump rope/rope skipping.

IJRU President, Shaun Hamilton offers words of congratulations and advice as the Athlete Council begins their work:

β€œIt is fantastic to see the high turnout of athletes participating in the Athlete Council election. The work and responsibility of the Council is so important as this group will represent and support athletes in all stages of their lives. I know that the IJRU Athlete Council is in very good hands. As members of the Athlete Council, you represent all athletes from around the world, so do your best to better understand all viewpoints, listen, act and support our community to the best of your ability.”
